The Internet – Its more than just Emailing
One of the reasons this website has been created is to help Churches and ministries around the world to take full advantage of the world wide web, which sadly so many are not.
Within the last decade it seems, the internet has grown to contain 1 trillion pages. There is 1 Petabyte of total information storage (a billion Gigabytes).
In total, 33% of internet users say they read blogs, with 11% of internet users doing so on a typical day.
And 93% of teens aged from 12 – 17 use the internet.
All in all the internet has become the largest single communications tool for the spreading of information. And as Christians we would be foolish not to take hold of this tool and use it to its greatest capacity to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
As with all things in this world if something can be used for good it also can be used for bad. And the internet is no exception, bulging with Pornography, violence and cruelty we must discern for ourselves how we use it. But what we must not do is allow the internet to be over run by those things that are detrimental to our society and ultimately the glory of God.
I thank God that there are churches and organisations that are using the internet for all its advantages, such as www.DesiringGod.com. Which is a fantastic tool for all Christians to study and grow in their relationship with Christ.

So instead of simply using the internet for our emails and getting information. We must embrace it and use it to teach the young about Christ, nuture the newly converted and proclaim the good news to a lost world.
